Copynix

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how Copynix ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at copynix.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

1. Overview

Copynix provides free online developer tools — including a TOTP authenticator, password generator, hash generator, JWT decoder, and more. All tools run entirely in your browser. Your inputs (secret keys, passwords, text) are never transmitted to our servers.

We do not build user profiles, sell personal data, or require account registration. Our goal is to provide useful tools while collecting the absolute minimum data necessary to operate and improve the service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

We do not collect or store any inputs you enter into our tools. All tool processing (hashing, encoding, TOTP generation, JWT decoding) happens exclusively within your browser. Your data never reaches our servers.

Specifically, we do not:

  • Require account registration or login.
  • Log tool inputs or outputs.
  • Store secret keys, passwords, tokens, or any other sensitive data.
  • Sell or share user data with third parties for marketing purposes.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

When you visit Copynix, standard web server logs and analytics services may automatically collect certain non-personally-identifiable information, including:

  • Browser type and version.
  • Operating system.
  • Referring URL (the page you visited before arriving at Copynix).
  • Pages visited on Copynix and time spent on each page.
  • Approximate geographic location (country/region level, not precise location).
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet).

This information is used in aggregate form to understand how users interact with the site, improve tool design, and diagnose technical issues.

2.3 Local Storage

Certain features use your browser's localStorage to store data locally on your device. For example, the TOTP tool may store your added accounts locally, and the password tool may retain a history of generated passwords. This data:

  • Is stored entirely on your device, not on our servers.
  • Is never transmitted over the network.
  • Can be cleared at any time via your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear site data).
  • Is not accessible to us or any third party.

3. Cookies

Copynix uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for the following purposes:

3.1 Essential / Preference Cookies

We store your theme preference (light/dark mode) and language preference in localStorage. These are strictly necessary for the site to function as you expect and are not used for tracking.

3.2 Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. Google Analytics sets cookies to track page views, session duration, and user flows. This data is collected in aggregate and does not personally identify you.

Google Analytics data retention is set to the minimum period (2 months for user-level and event-level data). You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by:

  • Installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings.
  • Using a privacy-focused browser or ad blocker.

3.3 Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)

We display ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show personalized ads based on your browsing activity across the web. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Copynix and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Google AdSense also uses the DoubleClick cookie (and similar technologies) to serve ads across the web. You can learn more about how Google uses data when you visit partner sites at: google.com/policies/privacy/partners.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own Privacy Policy:

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services. We are not responsible for their data practices.

5. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. Because Copynix collects minimal personal data (only through analytics and advertising cookies), most of these rights are straightforward to exercise.

5.1 European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of Access: You can request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data.
  • Right to Restriction: You can request that we limit the processing of your data.
  • Right to Object: You can object to processing of your data for direct marketing or legitimate interests.
  • Right to Data Portability: You can receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Our legal basis for processing analytics data is legitimate interests (improving the service). Our legal basis for advertising cookies is consent, which you can manage via your browser settings or Google's ad settings.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at copynix2fa@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

5.2 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) grant you the following rights:

  • Right to Know: You can request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to Delete: You can request deletion of personal information we have collected from you.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information. However, Google AdSense sharing your data with its advertising network may constitute a "sale" under CCPA. You can opt out via Google's ad settings.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
  • Right to Correct: You can request correction of inaccurate personal information.

To exercise CCPA rights, contact us at copynix2fa@gmail.com. We will respond within 45 days.

6. Data Retention

We retain analytics data (via Google Analytics) for a maximum of 14 months before it is automatically deleted.

LocalStorage data (such as saved TOTP accounts or password history) is stored on your device and persists until you clear it through your browser settings. We have no access to this data.

If you contact us via email, we may retain that correspondence for up to 2 years for customer support purposes.

7. Children's Privacy

Copynix is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at copynix2fa@gmail.com and we will promptly delete such information.

8. Data Security

The security of your data is central to Copynix's design. Because all tool processing happens in your browser and no sensitive inputs are transmitted to our servers, the risk of a data breach exposing your tool inputs is inherently minimized.

We use HTTPS (TLS) to protect data in transit between your browser and our servers. Our website is served over a secure CDN infrastructure.

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you discover a security vulnerability in Copynix, please contact us responsibly at copynix2fa@gmail.com.

9. International Data Transfers

Copynix is operated from Vietnam. If you access our website from outside Vietnam, please be aware that your information (such as analytics data) may be transferred to and processed in the United States (via Google's servers) or other countries with different data protection laws than your own.

By using Copynix, you consent to this transfer. Where required by law (e.g., for EEA users), appropriate safeguards are in place via Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of Copynix after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
